TRASH DAY — co-op raccoon chaos, shopping cart simulator, controlled disaster

The studio Off By One Games (developers with experience on Rocket League) has announced its new game — Trash Day.

This is a 4-player co-op adventure where you play as raccoons, push a shopping cart full of loot, and try to drag it all the way home through complete chaos.

WTF is this

The gameplay is built around a simple idea:
grab as much trash as possible and don’t lose it on the way back.

In reality, it turns into a circus:

  • the cart has a mind of its own and constantly tries to launch itself into a ditch
  • physics works against you
  • your friends make everything worse
  • if it’s not nailed down — it’s yours

You can use random junk like planks and bungee cords to get over obstacles or just pull off completely improvised stunts.

Raccoons, chaos, and petty crime

The game isn’t just about pushing a cart.

You:

  • knock over trash cans
  • dig through dumpsters
  • steal food
  • run from dogs and other animals trying to take it back

Sometimes it’s easier to distract them than fight.
Sometimes you just grab stuff and run.

And yes, it’s not just raccoons — there are other animals too, including red pandas.

Co-op as it should be

The developers are very clear about this — the game is built for yelling in voice chat:

  • 4-player online co-op
  • physics that guarantees everything will go wrong
  • constant fails, flips, and “who did that?” moments

This isn’t about clean gameplay.
It’s about chaos, noise, and somehow getting that cart home together.

Release

Trash Day is set to launch in 2026 and is already available to wishlist on Steam.
