SAMSON Gameplay Trailer Shows a Game Built on “Time, Debt, Violence and Speed”
Developer Liquid Swords has released a new gameplay trailer for SAMSON as part of the project’s Dev Diary series. The video is harsh and brutal — the developers openly frame the game around four pillars: time, debt, violence and speed.
At the center of the gameplay are brutal close-quarters fights. The trailer shows teeth being knocked out, enemies cut with a cleaver, and anything within reach turning into a weapon. In one moment a pipe wrench literally flies straight into an NPC’s face, followed by the narrator’s punch line:
“Sometimes you didn’t need skill. You need something solid.”
The combat clearly aims for heavy, physical impact. During one sequence the protagonist’s pain and rage build up in the middle of a fight, accompanied by the line:
“Pain builds up.”
The character then explodes into a furious counterattack, hinting at a possible rage or momentum system tied to sustained damage.
The protagonist sums up his philosophy bluntly:
“I didn’t fight to win. I fought to finish.”
The trailer also leans into dark humor. After a particularly brutal hit, the narrator adds:
“Hear that sound? Yeah, that's the sound a face makes when it meets regret.”
The video doesn’t focus only on street fights. Vehicles play a major role as well. Cars aren’t just transportation — they’re tools for ramming, chasing and smashing through enemies.
As the trailer puts it:
“Cars had weight. Every hit mattered.”
The story takes place in the city of Tyndalston. The protagonist returns there with debts he can’t escape. Criminal groups are using his sister as leverage, and time is running out.
The trailer closes with a line that sets the tone for the entire game:
“People talk about freedom like it’s a feeling. They have no idea.”
SAMSON launches on April 8, 2026, for $24.99 on PC, and is already available to wishlist on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
