New Onimusha: Way of the Sword trailer shown at Capcom Spotlight

Capcom presented a new gameplay trailer for Onimusha: Way of the Sword during the latest Capcom Spotlight broadcast.

The upcoming action title is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a release planned for 2026.

The new trailer offers another look at the game’s setting — Kyoto during the early Edo period, a historic city now engulfed by mysterious clouds of Malice. Players will explore locations filled with danger, secrets, and supernatural threats.

At the center of the story is a samurai wielding the Oni Gauntlet, a mystical artifact that grants the power to defeat creatures from the underworld known as Genma. As the journey unfolds, the protagonist fights through brutal sword battles while searching for the reason behind his path.

The footage also highlights the game’s core focus on intense sword combat, dark fantasy atmosphere, and encounters with monstrous enemies.
