Witcher 4 to appear at Unreal Fest

CD Projekt Red reveals next The Witcher 4 showcase and gameplay changes

The Witcher 4 will be shown again soon. CD Projekt RED confirmed that the next presentation is just three months away.

The upcoming showcase is scheduled for Unreal Fest, taking place June 16–18, 2026 in Chicago. While the studio hasn’t confirmed exactly what will be shown, the event is expected to feature a technology demo built on Unreal Engine 5.

During a recent podcast, several gameplay details were also discussed. Ciri will be able to cast spells while running and swim underwater, and the game will introduce a dedicated jump button. Motion capture is also being used to convey Ciri’s emotions more clearly, emphasizing the contrast between her personality and Geralt’s stoic demeanor.

Developers also confirmed that NPCs will be more diverse, and the open world will be more interactive compared to The Witcher 3.

The podcast additionally showed behind-the-scenes footage of animation work from both the first Witcher 4 trailer and The Witcher 3, including some of the challenges involved in animating boss fights.
